This shot is from the left side, which shows how a roll of printed material is secured on the bottom front mandrel. It is then loaded into the front rollers (Nip) with the polycarbonate laminate being pulled down from the top supply mandrel.

The Workhorse can be ordered with the "Scrap Rewind" option shown in the top-left of the photo. It removes the liner from the pressure sensitive laminate as the laminate is pulled down into the Nip.

Back to the Workhorse main page.

After the laminate has gone through the Nip rollers it is also pulled through the "Pull rollers." The pull rollers serve several purposes. First, they pull the hot laminates taut so they cool while passing over the fan without curling. Secondly pulling the material taut helps when the slitters are engaged.

If the front rollers are damaged, the rear ones can be pulled and swapped with the front ones immediatley, avoiding downtime. They also make the Workhorse a Weeding Machine when needed as in this photo.
