What
are Profiles and What is Calibrating?
Profiles
are files that describe the characteristics of a particular ink and media
combination. When an image is printed on a material, the ink takes on
the characteristics of that material giving it its own unique brightness,
color cast, and contrast.
To get consistent color while using different ink and material combinations,
a few steps can be taken. The first is to apply the correct profile to
the media. Unless your software contains the profile of the specific media
and ink combination, you will get less than perfect color. Our materials
have been profiled for many ink combinations. The profiles are available
to our customers.
Calibration
Your monitor and scanner as well as
your printer/ink/media combination have
profiles. When all of the profiles have been applied and are used correctly
in your software, your system is calibrated!

What
are the benefits of a calibrated system:
A calibrated system gives you tremendous
control over correcting color. You save money by saving time, ink and
media because what you see on the display is what will print on your printer.
No more test print waste!!!
